We are seeking an experienced Assembler 2 to join our team in assembling stainless steel laboratory equipment. This role requires full-cycle assembly and testing, utilizing hand tools and interpreting blueprints to assemble equipment accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle assembly and testing of stainless steel equipment.
• Use hand tools to assemble stainless steel lab equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics daily to ensure accurate assembly.
• Lift up to 50 lbs independently and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Troubleshoot and repair assembly issues with minimal assistance.
• Exercise good judgment in selecting tools, materials, and equipment for non-repetitive assembly operations.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment to meet quality and performance expectations.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and bills of materials.
• Knowledge of product assembly, particularly in industrial settings.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair assembly issues.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience in electronic assembly.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent assembly experience or related experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to pass a blueprint reading test.
• Experience in a union facility is beneficial.
• Mechanically inclined with a consistent work history.

Work Environment

Work in a very clean, unionized facility that spans 160,000 sq ft. The environment requires steel-toed boots and allows for casual attire such as jeans and t-shirts. Operate within a sheet metal environment that is not temperature controlled, alongside a small team of about 10 people. The standard shift is from 6am-2:30pm, with potential overtime starting at 5am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
