Nexiya is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Technical Writer with exceptional writing, editing, and document management skills. This individual will fill the role of Technical Writer, providing crucial support to our client, a major utility company in San Diego. The Technical Writer will be responsible for researching, developing, editing, formatting, and publishing complex technical documentation while ensuring compliance with established quality, formatting, and editorial standards.

Roles and Responsibilities 

• Research, write, edit, and maintain complex technical documents, procedures, manuals, reports, specifications, and related materials. 
• Ensure all documentation meets editorial, customer, and organizational standards for quality, accuracy, graphics, formatting, and style. 
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, project teams, illustrators, and other stakeholders to gather and validate technical information. 
• Coordinate document reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to produce accurate and effective documentation. 
• Prepare, organize, and format technical content for publication across various media platforms. 
• Participate in the publication and distribution of technical documentation in electronic and print formats. 
• Track project documentation throughout its lifecycle, including creation, review, approval, publication, revision, and archival. 
• Maintain version control and document management processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. 
• Develop and maintain document templates, standards, and style guides as needed. 
• Maintain current knowledge of assigned technical subject matter and industry best practices. 
• Participate as an active member of project teams and support project deliverables through effective documentation management. 
• Perform other job duties as assigned. 

Education/Experience Requirements 

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Journalism, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred. 
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer, Documentation Specialist, or similar role. 
• Experience developing and editing technical documentation in a corporate, engineering, utility, construction, manufacturing, or technology environment preferred. 
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. 
• Experience coordinating document reviews and collaborating with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
• Experience with document management systems, collaboration tools, and publishing software preferred. 
• Ability to work independently under limited supervision and with urgency. 
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
• Must be a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail. 
• Strong customer service skills and proactive follow-up (internal and external). 
• Excellent verbal, written, editing, and proofreading skills. 
• Must be able to apply critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 
• Must be able to successfully pass our background screening process. 
• Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.

Pay Range 

Min: $37/hour 

Max: $44/hour
