Workday Report Writer

Job Summary: Workday Report Writer (FIN)
- Develop and manage custom Finance reports and dashboards using Workday tools (Report Writer, Report Designer, Prism Analytics) for UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement.
- Translate business requirements into actionable reports and dashboards by interpreting financial data and understanding stakeholder needs.
- Execute operational updates by creating/modifying finance-related Worktags, Expense Items, Ledger Accounts, Payment Terms, Procurement Reasons, Requisition Types, and Revenue Categories.
- Configure Spend Categories, Cost Centers, and Hierarchies in Workday and Adaptive, ensuring alignment across systems.
- Generate and analyze finance-related metrics to provide insights supporting strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (managers, Finance teams, executives) to gather requirements and deliver meaningful reporting solutions.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of existing reports by reviewing, updating, and improving layouts, data sources, and calculations.
- Stay current with Workday updates and trends to enhance reporting capabilities and leverage new features.
- Maintain data integrity and security by adhering to data governance policies and best practices.
- Validate and reconcile data from multiple sources for consistency and reliability in reporting outputs.
- Document report requirements, specifications, and processes for knowledge sharing and consistent practices.
- Provide training and support to end-users, including creating user-friendly documentation and guides.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, IT) to align reporting with organizational goals and resolve issues.
- Document and execute routine Finance-related requests according to change control processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience developing/managing custom Finance reports in Workday.
- Proficiency in Workday reporting tools; Prism Analytics and Adaptive experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of Finance business processes (GL, AP, AR, FP&A, Fixed Assets).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data confidentially and adhere to data governance best practices.
