Applied Concepts, Inc. – Richardson, Texas Engineering Manager – Job Overview The Engineering Manager at Applied Concepts is responsible for the planning and implementation of the product development process for the creation of electronic products using RADAR, LIDAR and traffic calming technologies. This includes managing the resources, equipment, defining goals, setting priorities, and ensuring the methods used are adequate for the goals of the development objectives. The position requires knowledge of working with the manufacturing of electronic products and the ability to work directly with manufacturing organizations in the resolution of manufacturing issues. The job also requires continuous improvement of the development process to maintain a competitive organization. We are looking for someone that enjoys taking products from concept to customer satisfaction. Compensation The compensation for this position is a combination of salary, medical, dental, and life insurance benefits along with a generous amount of paid time off. The annual salary for this role is $130,000-$155,000. Develop and implement engineering policies, standards, and procedures. Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and executive leadership to drive product delivery. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Develop, mentor, and coach staff as needed. Monitor system and equipment reliability and performance; recommend improvements. Evaluate and define current and future product lines by reviewing specifications, requirements, and new product or packaging ideas. Collect, manage, and maintain traceability of stakeholder requirements across product releases. Present project plans and implement strategies to improve cost efficiency. Define high-level requirements and design strategies aligned with company objectives and resources. Collaborate with management, production, and marketing to determine project requirements and procedures. What You'll Need To Succeed Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams involving aspects of electronics design, mechanical engineering, and software development. Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities on an ongoing basis. Strong communication skills, motivational skills and negotiation skills, especially when it comes to leading a team. Proven ability to create and manage processes along with a good understanding of agile methodologies. Leadership abilities with a strategic mindset. Excellent project management skills, including strong attention to detail and managing resources. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or another technical field, with 8+ years of experience in the field of engineering. 3+ years of experience successfully managing people.
