Its employees consistently rank Moss as one of the best places to work.Moss' Solar Project Engineers work in concert with the Project Manager and project team to drive and coordinate the various processes of building utility scale solar projects. They assist Project Managers with the planning and daily execution of the construction project. They are responsible for tracking all submittals and delivery of materials and the coordination of the contract documents to avoid potential conflict.Essential Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesParticipates in pre-construction activities by establishing document control procedures, performing quantity takeoffs, conducting site investigation, participating in value engineering, participating in constructability review, initiating Prolog setup, monitoring pre-construction schedules, assisting with subcontractor & vendor solicitation, assisting with development of QC plan, assisting with scope of work and bid package development, documenting pre-construction meetings, initiating permit process, assisting with budget presentations, coordinating construction of mock ups, and reviewing condo risk mitigationCoordinates project start-up by reviewing owner contract, assisting with development of startup checklist and site utilization plan, coordinating mobilization, assisting with subcontractor & vendor selection, identifying critical issues & milestones, finalizing Prolog set up, participating in development of construction schedule, and participating in subcontractor project orientationExpedites materials by developing submittal log, establishing fabrication & delivery schedule, confirming delivery of materials, conducting submittal/SD review process, reviewing coordination drawings, monitoring materials stored off site, coordinating owner furnished materials, and verifying fabrication statusCoordinates construction activities by strategizing with Superintendent, conducting subcontractor pre-construction meetings, maintaining activity tracking logs, participating in schedule updates, conducting quality control inspections, verifying field installations, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and policies, coordinating storage of delivered materials, participating in daily superintendent meetings, participating in jobsite meetings, maintaining material expediting log, participating in project team visits, coordinating activities with user groups, and assisting with agency inspectionsFacilitates project administration by expediting subcontractor and vendor agreements, assisting with subcontractor and vendor insurance and bond agreements, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, assisting with managing check-hold list, maintaining jobsite files, processing progress photos, assisting with preparation of project status reports, coordinating activities with project staff, maintaining Prolog, generating correspondence, administering RFI process, and ensuring compliance with company policies and proceduresTracks project costs by processing subcontractor and vendor pay requests, assisting with tracking owner payments, tracking subcontractor back charges, and updating labor cost reportsManages change order process by creating change requests, reviewing scope changes, determining schedule impacts, issuing owner notification, expediting subcontractor and vendor pricing, preparing cost proposal, and negotiating proposal costsManages project closeout by preparing closeout log, participating in punch list process, coordinating and documenting owner training, commissioning building systems, preparing O & M manuals and warranties, compiling As-Built Drawings, coordinating transfer of attic stock, completing subcontractor and vendor closeout, and demobilizing siteParticipates in personal career development by participating in professional organizations, participating in training programs, maintaining certifications and licenses, participating in mentoring programs, participating in seminars and conferences, participating in continuing education programs, participating in performance evaluation process, and monitoring action planPromotes company by participating in community organizations, participating in Task Teams, participating in college recruiting, participating in company activities, participating in industry related organizations, participating in client presentations, participating in recognition programs, participating in training program development, supporting mentoring programs, participating in general recruiting, practicing core values and celebrating successesPerform other duties as assignedEducation And Work ExperienceBachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related discipline6 months to one-year internship experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in the construction industryStrong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applicationsStrong communication and interpersonal skills are required to interface directly with owners' representatives, the A/E team, building departments and other team members.Basic finance skills are requiredJob Location: Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina - Multi-State, Requires High TravelClassification: Full Time – Exempt – SalariedReports To: Solar Project ManagerThis position requires frequent physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and may occasionally be required to handle loads exceeding that amount with assistance. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, loud noise levels, and extreme temperatures.
