Steam Turbine Field Service Engineer

Remote | Up to 60% Travel | Full Time

Join a growing independent turbine-services organization that is actively expanding its field-service, repair and generator capabilities.

Recent acquisitions have added experienced field personnel, generator-service capabilities and greater technical capacity across multiple OEM turbine platforms. We are now looking for an experienced Steam Turbine Field Service Engineer who can take technical ownership of outages, work directly with customers and make sound decisions in the field.

\n

This is a remote, field-based position. When assigned to a project, you will serve as the primary onsite technical lead—not simply provide support from the sidelines.

What You’ll Do

\n

\n
• Lead the technical execution of steam-turbine outages, inspections and repairs.
\n
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers at the jobsite.
\n
• Troubleshoot turbine issues and conduct root-cause analysis under real-world outage conditions.
\n
• Coordinate Field Service crews, Project Managers, Operations and Engineering resources.
\n
• Review project scope and support outage planning before mobilization.
\n
• Ensure field activities remain aligned with the contract, schedule and customer expectations.
\n
• Identify scope changes, project risks and additional-work opportunities.
\n
• Provide customers and internal leadership with clear progress updates.
\n
• Prepare detailed field reports, inspection findings and job documentation.
\n
• Drive safe, efficient and high-quality project execution.
\n
• Identify process gaps and help improve future field-service performance.
\n

What We’re Looking For

\n

\n
• At least five years of hands-on steam-turbine field-service experience.
\n
• Direct experience with steam-turbine outages, inspections, maintenance or repairs.
\n
• Strong knowledge of steam-turbine components and outage-execution practices.
\n
• Ability to independently lead technical activity at a customer site.
\n
• Strong troubleshooting and real-time decision-making skills.
\n
• Experience working directly with plant personnel and customer leadership.
\n
• Ability to coordinate across field crews, Operations, Engineering, Sales and Project Management.
\n
• Clear written communication and technical-reporting skills.
\n
• A safety-first mindset and willingness to take ownership of project outcomes.
\n

Travel and Work Environment

\n

\n
• Remote, home-based position with travel to customer power-generation sites.
\n
• Up to 60% travel, including overnight assignments.
\n
• Flexibility to work around outage schedules and changing project requirements.
\n
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced field-service environment.
\n
• Regular sitting, standing, walking, speaking and hearing are required.
\n
• Required vision capabilities include close, distance and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
\n
