The ideal candidate will have experience in legal billing, attention to detail, and a passion for accuracy. Prepare and Review Client Billing: Generate and review client invoices in accordance with firm policies and client guidelines. Ensure that bills reflect accurate time entries, expenses, and fees. Billing Data Management: Enter and maintain accurate timekeeping and billing data in the firm’s billing software. Ensure that all relevant information is updated and correct. Coordination with Attorneys and Staff: Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other team members to ensure timely and accurate billing. Respond to inquiries related to billing issues and concerns. Handle Discrepancies and Adjustments: Address client inquiries regarding invoices, providing clarification and adjustments as needed. Resolve billing discrepancies in a timely and professional manner. Reporting and Financial Analysis: Assist with the preparation of billing reports and assist with monthly financial close processes. Billing Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline billing procedures and ensure that processes are in line with industry best practices. Maintain Confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial data with discretion and ensure compliance with all confidentiality policies. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in billing, preferably in a law firm environment. High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree or relevant certification (such as in accounting or legal billing) is a plus. Strong proficiency in billing software (e.g., Elite, TimeSlips, or similar). Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
