Cnc machinist

We are seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Machinist for a manufacturing company in Berlin, CT. The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience setting up and operating CNC Milling Machines. Some programming (loading, editing) is preferred. The ability to read and understand blueprints is required. Please only apply if you have direct experience doing some CNC set ups.


salary: $52,000 - $73,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Performing machine setups quickly, accurately, and efficiently on all 3, 4, and 5 Axis milling equipment
• Loading, proving out, and maintenance of CNC programs. Work with engineering to suggest improvements to CNC programs and fixturing as applicable
• Operating machines to produce production runs of parts as needed including operating controls, setting offsets, and performing simple edits
• Inspecting of parts for conformance to requirements of Process / Inspection sheets and customer drawings
• Communicating with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to report machining, equipment or quality issues
• Keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly. Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment
• Maintaining lot control and quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management System
• Monitoring and documenting operational and performance issues and provide feedback to supervisor as required
