Summary/Objective The Recertification Specialist position provides administrative support to our Property Managers pertaining to the tenant certification/recertification process and daily property management responsibilities. Responsibilities Scheduling and conducting resident certification interviews. Requesting third‑party verifications, reviewing resident‑provided information for accuracy and completeness. Calculating income, assets, and expenses based on information obtained. Contacting residents to collect updated documents needed for the recertification process. Reviewing tenant files to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Assisting in maintaining property waitlist and regular entry of applications. Assisting with daily operational functions of the property including assisting residents, answering the phones, creating and closing work orders, and posting rent checks. Assisting with other duties as assigned. Processing initial, annual, and interim recertifications and calculating retroactive rent while conforming to HUD regulations and HPD guidelines. Calculating rents for annual and interim recertification. Identifying households with income reporting discrepancies and identifying rent‑adjustments. Reviewing applicant files and determining Section 8 eligibility. Following LIHTC and Section 8 guidelines. Requirements Minimum 2–3 years of affordable housing related experience, preferred. Experience in managing multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent verbal and writing skills. Ability to maintain a courteous and professional demeanor at all times. Ability to interact effectively with applicants, tenants and with all levels of staff and management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. Yardi Voyager software experience preferred. Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) a plus. Pay Range $33.00 – $36.00 per hour. Medical insurance: 100 % of medical benefits paid for employees only.
