Overview

Join a leading AI lab's cutting-edge GenAI team and help build foundational AI models from the ground up. We're seeking advanced Excel experts with deep, hands-on experience in the Manufacturing domain to bring real-world spreadsheet and analytical expertise that elevates the quality of our AI training data.

This role is for professionals who apply advanced Excel — modeling, data analysis, dashboards, and automation — to Manufacturing work such as production planning, bill-of-materials and inventory modeling, OEE and throughput analysis, cost-of-goods modeling, and supply and demand forecasting.

This is a W-2 employment position with Cincinnatus LLC, with the opportunity to be placed at a leading AI Lab as part of their extended workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide research teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance on Excel-based tasks within the Manufacturing domain.
• Design realistic, domain-relevant Excel tasks drawn from your professional experience, and write accurate, well-structured solutions.
• Evaluate Excel tasks and solutions and provide clear, written feedback.
• Collaborate with other subject matter experts to ensure consistency and accuracy in training data.

Core Qualifications

• Demonstrated advanced, professional-level Excel expertise, including advanced formulas (e.g., XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, dynamic arrays), PivotTables, data modeling, dashboards, Power Query, Power Pivot, and macros/VBA.
• Hands-on professional experience applying Excel within the Manufacturing domain.
• Demonstrable career progression in your field.
• Ability to engage reliably for at least 20 hours/week during weekdays.
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal skills.
• United States–based only.

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
