The Sous Chef in a fine dining setting plays a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations and exceptional culinary experiences. This role involves assisting with menu creation, supervising kitchen staff, maintaining high food quality standards, and managing inventory to deliver outstanding dishes consistent with the establishment's reputation.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and recipe development.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
- Oversee inventory management and stock control to minimize waste.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Manage kitchen operations during the Executive Chef’s absence.
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
