Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry, Faculty Practice is looking for a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join the team! Job Accountabilities: Sets up treatment/clinical area for patients Obtains dental history and records from patients Prepares materials for making impressions and restorations Maintains inventory of dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in the dental operatory Assists with patient registration Provides patient education and treatment planning Qualifications: Works independently with moderate technical guidance Previous experience in one or more recognized dental disciplines Possesses excellent interpersonal and patient service skills Ability to multitask Discover the power of your USC employment with our comprehensive benefits and perks package! The hourly rate range for this position is $24.00 - $26.12. Minimum Education: Specialized/technical training Minimum Certifications: BLS/CPR Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Skills: Chairside experience in a dental environment or private practice in one or more recognized dental disciplines (e.g., general/prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery). Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance, PPO, and dental terminology Demonstrated experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, with proven interpersonal and multitasking skills. Working knowledge of proper sterilization and instrument management techniques. Excellent written and oral communication skills, and orientation for teamwork. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures. Maintains working knowledge of First Aid, CPR, and Automated External Defibrillator use. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) training and Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) training. Clear tuberculosis (TB) test or chest X-ray required prior to the first day of employment. Preferred Education: Associate’s degree Preferred Certifications: California Orthodontic Assistant Permit, California Dental Sedation Assistant Permit, California Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant Certification. California Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions Permit (RDAEF) Preferred Skills: Working knowledge of axiUm dental management systems, or similar. Proficiency in written and conversational Spanish, and/or multilingual communication skills. Demonstrated experience and skills in a variety of dental disciplines. Skilled at clinical documentation, gathering and inputting data, maintaining filing systems and logs, and coordinating the work of others. USC is an equal opportunity employer.
