Job Coach (Employment Specialist)

Job Responsibilities

• Offer job‑coaching services and support to individuals with disabilities at their place of employment.
• Advocate for individuals and make necessary accommodations when needed.
• Support clients in developing and enhancing effective social skills for workplace success.
• Design and implement behavior‑management training strategies to support client success.
• Collaborate with staff and employment personnel to develop and implement Individual Support Plans for clients.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with the employment support team to support client success.
• Manage a caseload of clients.
• Connect clients with appropriate community resources to support their employment and personal development needs.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills and proficiency with relevant software applications.
• Exhibit the ability to demonstrate professional writing skills.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation to ensure compliance and record‑keeping standards are met.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with employers and state providers to support client employment outcomes.
• Demonstrate strong organizational and time‑management skills to efficiently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support organizational needs and client success.

Job Specifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred.

Preferred experience: Work experience with individuals with disabilities or background in social service.

Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to be very flexible. Excellent professional writing skills and good computer skills are preferred. CPR & First Aid training.

Work Hours: Must have a reliable vehicle, license, and valid insurance and have the availability to work a flexible schedule.

Physical Requirements: Using fine and gross motor skills. Ability to push or pull up to 25 pounds. Lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop and reach.
