Sr Scientist, Biologics Characterization

We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join our Product Biochemistry team, driving late-stage development (Phase II through commercialization) of biologics. You'll develop and deploy analytical methods and purification strategies, enrich and characterize product variants, and help onboard new technologies that deepen product understanding and improve processes across the pipeline. You'll work in a fast-paced, team-based environment, partnering with cross-functional colleagues across Product Biochemistry and Regeneron to drive process improvements and technology initiatives.This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.When & where:Location: Tarrytown, NYWork model/flexibility: OnsiteDiscover your role:Develop analytical methods and purification protocols to support extended characterization of therapeutic proteins and gene therapy vectorsConduct biochemical/biophysical characterization to support development, regulatory submissions, and commercializationApply DOE, advanced statistics, and risk assessments to evaluate and optimize methods and processesDesign and execute experiments to enrich, purify, and characterize size/charge variants, complexes, and high-concentration formulationsAuthor high-quality technical documents, including protocols, reports, memos, and contribute to regulatory sections and publicationsIntegrate learnings from internal data and external literature to make science-based study design recommendationsLead or participate in technology initiatives and continuous improvement projects; may mentor junior analysts in a matrix-based environmentMaintain instruments, troubleshoot instrumental and experimental issues, and improve lab and data workflowsThis role might be for you if:You possess strong lab skills in protein separation, purification, and tangential flow filtration (TFF), along with mass spectrometry-based identificationYou thrive in a fast-paced, team environment and can also work independently across multiple projectsYou demonstrate initiative, calculated risk-taking, and a passion for innovation and continuous improvementYou communicate clearly, manage projects effectively, and solve complex problems with data-driven rigorYou're scientifically creative, hardworking, efficient, and flexibleYou enjoy mentoring others and contributing to a safe, efficient, and inclusive lab environmentThis role requires:BS/MS/PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field, plus 8-10+ years of experience (BS/MS) or 0-2+ years of experience (PhD)Technical proficiency in automated FPLC and/or HPLC (SEC, IEX, affinity), electrophoresis (capillary or microchip, SDS-PAGE, western blots), spectroscopy, and light scatteringFundamental understanding of protein structure/function, mass spectrometry, and immunology/immunogenicityExcellent oral and written communication skills, along with demonstrated teamworkStrong initiative to complete tasks, learn new technologies, and commit to continuous learningAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving R&D environment and communicate clearly with key stakeholdersPreferred / nice-to-haves:Experience working in the biopharmaceutical industryDoes this sound like you?
