We are seeking a Senior Scientist to lead the Physiology function within our Auditory research team. In this role, you will lead the design and execution of experiments to interrogate mechanisms of pathology, identify novel therapeutic targets, and contribute to therapeutic design, validation, and pre-clinical testing, while collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop new medicines for hearing loss and vestibular disorders. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.When & where:Location: Tarrytown, NYWork model/flexibility: OnsiteDiscover your role:Develop and characterize novel animal models to understand mechanisms of hearing loss and vestibular dysfunction and test novel therapeuticsDesign and perform in vivo functional assays (e.g., ABR, DPOAE, VsEPs, noise exposure experiments) and other novel technologies to study hearing loss mechanismsConduct histological analyses of the inner ear to examine cell morphology and subcellular protein localizationDesign rigorous experiments to address core scientific questions and carefully analyze and evaluate dataPresent data internally and externally, contributing to discussions in a collaborative, cross-functional team environmentContribute to writing protocols, reports, and articles for publicationManage several concurrent studies with strong attention to detail and organizationMotivate and develop research associates and other trainees while exploring uncharted scientific territoryThis role requires:Ph.D. in a relevant field or Au.D.Strong background in electrophysiology and ear biologyExperience with functional measures of ear physiology in mice and/or other animal modelsStrong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work well independently and in a teamPreferred: familiarity with stereotaxic delivery to the inner earPreferred: experience with primary culture of auditory, vestibular, or neural cellsPreferred: excellent publication record and managerial experienceDoes this sound like you?
