Exciting Opportunity for Clinical Laboratory Scientist! Job Description:
- Join a dynamic team providing exceptional care in a beautiful setting surrounded by oak trees.
- Conduct a wide variety of clinical laboratory tests on biological specimens.
- Review, evaluate, document, and report results while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Facilitate training and supervision for trainees, laboratory assistants, and clerks as needed.
- Utilize positive patient identification procedures to uphold specimen integrity.
- Perform proper specimen collection (including phlebotomy), labeling, handling, and storage.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Prioritize lab orders (STAT, ASAP, routine, timed studies) and execute complex testing across various disciplines including:
- Chemistry
- Coagulation
- Hematology
- Immunology
- Microbiology
- Evaluate, document, and ensure quality control checks on all testing.
- Analyze and verify test results, correlating them with diagnoses and addressing any discrepancies.
- Thoroughly communicate test results, expediting critical values to clinicians for immediate attention.
- Follow disposal protocols for contaminated materials and maintain a clean work area after each test.
