This position is based onsite at our modern outpatient office located in the heart of Portsmouth, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients recovering from orthopedic injuries or surgeries, utilizing various therapeutic modalities and techniques.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that address each patient's unique needs and rehabilitation goals, tracking progress and making adjustments as necessary.
• Implement therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, exercise regimens, and patient education to maximize mobility, strength, and pain relief.
• Document patients' treatments and progress in detail, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and update therapeutic goals as needed.
• Assist patients in selecting and applying appropriate assistive devices to facilitate mobility and independence.
• Provide education and training to patients, caregivers, and families about treatment options, self-management strategies, and lifestyle modifications.
• Engage in continuous professional development through workshops, seminars, and conferences in physical therapy to enhance skills and stay updated on industry trends.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients, including individuals recovering from sports injuries, joint replacements, and chronic pain conditions. You will cater to a varied demographic, addressing both pediatric and adult patients' needs. Your role will be pivotal in restoring physical function and contributing to their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid State License in Physical Therapy to practice within Virginia.
• Proficient in verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with patients and healthcare teams.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer proficiency.
• Demonstrable flexibility and adaptability in approaching patient care and treatment modifications.

Preferred Experience

• Although prior experience is not required, a strong passion for orthopedic rehabilitation is essential.
• Previous clinical experience through internships or externships will be considered a plus.
