Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their individual goals and develop tailored treatment plans aimed at maximizing their mobility and minimizing pain.
• Manage a caseload with a focus on providing one-on-one therapy sessions, spending comprehensive time with each patient to ensure personalized care.
• Utilize manual therapy techniques and develop exercise protocols that address specific orthopedic needs.
• Evaluate patients' progress regularly, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on outcomes and feedback.
• Document all patient interactions and treatment details accurately using EMR software, such as WebPT, to maintain high-quality records and facilitate effective care continuity.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding rehabilitation processes, home exercise programs, and wellness strategies that promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Promote the reduction of reliance on medications and explore non-invasive alternatives to surgery through realistic functional goals and rehabilitation strategies.
• Motivate and support patients throughout their treatment journey, encouraging engagement and commitment to their rehabilitation plans.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with adults experiencing orthopedic issues, ranging from postoperative recovery and chronic pain management to sports injuries and joint rehabilitation. Our patient demographics reflect a diverse community in Norfolk, providing you the opportunity to address a variety of rehabilitation challenges and needs.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
• Possession of a valid state license as a Physical Therapist to practice in Virginia.
• An excellent professional record with no history of board or disciplinary actions against your license.
• Strong proficiency in manual therapy techniques and advanced knowledge of orthopedic rehabilitation practices.
• Ability to utilize electronic medical records (EMR) effectively, specifically having experience with WebPT.
• Exceptional skills in developing and implementing patient-centered exercise protocols and wellness programs.

Preferred Experience

• Prior work experience in orthopedic outpatient settings is highly preferred, equipping you with necessary insights and nuances in patient care.

Compensation and Benefits
