Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing, Undergraduate Program

SUMMARYThe School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, on-campus faculty position. This position is dedicated to undergraduate nursing education and offers an exciting opportunity to prepare the next generation of practice-ready, Christ-centered nurse leaders.The successful candidate will teach undergraduate nursing students through high-quality, in-person instruction in classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings. Teaching responsibilities will include foundational nursing courses and clinical instruction in areas such as fundamental medical-surgical nursing. Beyond teaching, faculty members are expected to actively engage in student advising and mentoring, scholarly activities, service to the School of Nursing and the University, and professional practice.The School of Nursing is committed to academic excellence, innovation in nursing education, and the integration of Christian faith with nursing practice. Palm Beach Atlantic University is a comprehensive Christian university whose mission is to equip students to grow in wisdom, lead with conviction, and serve God boldly, emphasizing moral, spiritual, and intellectual development.STATUSApplications reviewed on a rolling basis until positions are filled (early submission encouraged).EDUCATIONDoctoral degree required (PhD or DNP); PhD in Nursing preferred.Current Florida Registered Nurse license or eligibility for Florida licensure before employment.Current BLS/CPR certification.QUALIFICATIONSOne to two years of teaching experience in an accredited nursing program.Recent clinical practice experience in medical-surgical nursing.Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate nursing education.Experience with simulation-based education, clinical evaluation, curriculum development, and instructional technologies.Evidence of scholarly productivity, including publications, presentations, or grant activity.Experience with competency-based educationPrior collegiate-level teaching experience, preferred.Commitment to teaching excellence and service to the college, university, and community.Demonstrated Christian commitment and the ability to integrate faith into coursework.POSITION DETAILSThe position is a full-time position, with a teaching load of 12 load contact hours per semester.Primary ResponsibilitiesTeachingTeach undergraduate nursing courses during the fall and spring semesters.Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction in classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings.Integrate current evidence, technology, and best practices into teaching to foster students' clinical judgment, critical thinking, compassionate, patient-centered, and Christ-centered care.Develop, administer, and evaluate student learning using a variety of assessment methods.Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.AdvisingServe as an academic advisor to undergraduate nursing students in accordance with School of Nursing policies.Meet regularly with assigned advisees to support academic success and professional development.Approve student registration as appropriate.Mentor students in scholarly inquiry, evidence-based practice, and professional growth.ScholarshipThe SON defines scholarship as keeping current with nursing practice, original research, and other scholarly activities such as publications, presentations, and participation in professional nursing organizations.ServiceServe on School of Nursing and University committees.Contribute to student recruitment, retention, and program evaluation.Provide professional service to the nursing profession and the broader community.Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation, and continuous quality improvement activities.Support the mission and strategic initiatives of the School of Nursing and Palm Beach Atlantic University.PracticeMaintain competence in nursing practice through ongoing clinical engagement and professional development.Maintain an active, Florida Registered Nurse license (or eligible for Florida RN licensure).Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.Perform other duties as assigned.APPLICATION REQUIREMENTSAll applications must be submitted through the university’s career portal at pba.edu.
