About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Development to play a pivotal role in leading its comprehensive fundraising program. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to the Executive Vice President for Advancement, providing both strategic and operational leadership for the Development division. This includes overseeing all philanthropic efforts, from prospect research to donor relations, and maintaining a select portfolio of leadership-level prospects. The role demands a visionary leader who can foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation, and who is adept at building and maintaining relationships to secure funding and support. The Associate Vice President will also be responsible for campaign execution, talent development, and ensuring that the team's activities align with the institution's priorities. Applicants for the Associate Vice President for Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree preferred, and at least 5 years' experience in development, particularly within an educational setting. A Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification is also preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in successful fundraising initiatives, including major gifts and capital campaigns, and experience in coaching and mentoring staff to build a high-performing team. Essential competencies include a strong customer service orientation, professionalism, and a Christ-first faith. The role requires a candidate with a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence and lead a team towards common goals.
