Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse for a contract assignment within the Emergency Department in Clinton, Illinois. This role is crucial for providing comprehensive direct and indirect patient care to individuals presenting with a wide range of acute conditions and medical emergencies.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in evaluating patient outcomes, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and adjusting nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care and efficient flow through the ER. This position requires strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and ED physicians regarding patient status, symptomatology, and diagnostic results, with the ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care within the Emergency Department.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care and flow.
• Consult with other specialists and ancillary departments as required.
• Deliver care that addresses the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of patient needs.
• Effectively meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
• Communicate proactively with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, and diagnostic study results.
• Demonstrate initiative and responsibility consistent with professional nursing expectations.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
• Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) certification.
