Kaufman Dolowich Seeks Attorneys in Admiralty and Maritime LawThe New York offices of Kaufman Dolowich, a full-service National Law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas, is actively seeking attorneys with experience and/or interest in Admiralty and Maritime law and Transportation law to join our growing team. We also represent various clients involved in inter-modal transportation including trucking entities, and owners and lessors of inter-modal equipment We are deeply connected to the maritime community and have a firm understanding of the maritime law. Our maritime attorneys practice in numerous state and federal courts along the East Coast and the Great Lakes and have an active trial and appellate practice.The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, including federal courts and will have at least one year of litigation experience, preferably in the field of maritime and transportation law. We are also open to experienced, partner-level candidates.ResponsibilitiesManage a litigation caseload from inception through resolutionDraft and respond to written discoveryTake and defend depositionsPrepare, draft, and argue motionsParticipate in court appearances, status conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and other litigation proceedingsDevelop case strategy and manage day-to-day litigation responsibilitiesCommunicate directly with clients, providing strategic counsel and regular case updatesCollaborate with attorneys across multiple offices and practice groups on complex and challenging mattersAssist with trial preparation and other high-stakes litigation activitiesQualificationsAdmission to practice law in New York and New Jersey required.1+ years of defense litigation experience, maritime law and transportation law experience preferred.Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and oral advocacy skillsAbility to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent organizational, case management, and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated, proactive, and eager to assume increasing responsibilityPreferred ExperienceInsurance defense litigation, maritime law, transportation law preferred.Experience handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearancesExperience managing matters independentlyWhy Join Kaufman Dolowich?Collaborative and entrepreneurial culture with strong mentorship and supportSignificant opportunities for professional growth, client development, and advancementUnlimited PTO for AttorneysCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefits packageRobust discretionary and billable-based bonus opportunitiesMeaningful clients contact and hands-on litigation experienceBase Salary Range: $135,000-$250,000Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and does not guarantee a specific offer.
