We are currently seeking a full time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / PMHNP to see general adult mental health patients in an outpatient setting. New PMHNP graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Provider experience (Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Psychiatrists):
We believe that our providers will only be able to care for their patients well, if we care for our providers well. We encourage anyone interested to interview us, and let our providers tell you about the experience. We are certain the systems and approaches will be unlike anything you have seen before. Every annoying second that wastes provider’s time, and limits time spent with a patient has a solution. There are none we are aware of that remain on the table. This took years of effort to design and improve upon. We focused on building our clinic perfectly, not quickly.

You will have the option of working from home, or at our office, and you will be given a stipend to redecorate and buy furniture at both locations. You may select whichever location you prefer, or a mixture of the two locations. For any day you chose to work from home, a courier will deliver the patient charts to you. Therefore, a drive to work becomes unnecessary for those days, however we do ask that you live within a two-hour round-trip drive of the Charleston, South Carolina region.

Additional detail about our process:
All prescriptions are e-prescribed and prepped by staff, so that it only requires a few seconds to generate and later sign off on. We still use paper charts with a specialized way to speed dictations. We have held off on adopting an electronic medical record. We tested many, and every EMR we tested significantly slowed down the time our providers have available to spend with patients.

For a follow-up visits, all charting and prescribing for a patient can be completed within 2 minutes. You have no patient emails to check. There are no patient calls to return (staff provides you with solutions and options for patient requests or asks what message you wish conveyed). There are no patient paperwork requests for you to complete, those go to Dr. Cantrell and his support staff.

Please note, we have an outstanding clinic that excels at telehealth, if that is an option preferred by the applicant. We are did not start as a telehealth company, nor is it our only focus. We believe this offers a significant difference in the work environment, and job satisfaction.

For difficult patient encounters, issues requiring knowledge of mental health law, or in-patient admissions, your supporting physician is 20 feet away and ready to help. (As opposed to the multistate corporations with a psychiatrist 200 miles away on a sign-off stipend with minimal engagement.)

Salary / work status:
$125,000 - $150,000 a year salary (stepped wage increases of $5000 every six months written in contract), 3 weeks paid vacation, 1 week paid sick leave, and a Christmas bonus. It is 40 hours a week, and no call duty. Work location is in person for the first the 6-8 months, then your choice of at home, in clinic, or a mix of both.

This is W-2 employment and not a 1099 contracting offer that shifts the tax burden to the providers. No matter what happens, regardless of patient attendance for an appointment, you still get paid.

We pay for occurrence-based liability insurance (the good type of insurance that lasts forever), and we cover the cost of DEA and state licensing fees. Most of our patients have employment, insurance, and are easy to work with.
