• Own safety for yourself and your team; follow all rules and use required PPE.
• Operate two primary fabrication machines (e.g., Laser, CNC, Press Brake) for optimal throughput and first-pass yield.
• Complete daily/weekly maintenance checklist sign-offs.
• Uphold quality and process standards; meet department scrap-reduction goals.
• Train, mentor, and direct junior mechanics; provide floor leadership as needed.
• Understand department metrics; interpret and communicate results; update/post metrics.
• Complete accurate paperwork and online data entries.
• Capture and document processes to build team knowledge.
• Maintain 5S and a safe, orderly work area.
• Join CI activities and root-cause problem solving.
• Contribute to safety enhancements and new initiatives.
• Insist on top-tier quality and teach precise methods.
• Model sustainable practices—reduce waste, maximize recycling, and limit energy and water use.
• Promote innovative ideas that improve methods, systems, or services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by plant leadership.

Report to a Team Leader, Station Leader, or designated supervisor. You will provide hands-on leadership and mentorship, fill leadership roles as needed, and may contribute subject-matter expertise to regional project teams.

• Qualified to run two major fabrication machines, including Laser, CNC, and Press Brake.
• Demonstrated small-team leadership.
• Clear written communication for process documentation and professional emails/memos.
• Professional verbal communication with customers and coworkers; technically accurate information sharing.
• Expert knowledge of the sheet metal FAST program.
• Blueprint and drawing literacy.
• Strong product knowledge of BAC models and parts.
• Math proficiency: add/subtract/multiply/divide, fractional math, and fraction-to-decimal conversion.
• Competence with measuring tools: tape measure, micrometer, protractor.
• Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator.
• Experience with CI tools and supporting root cause analysis for quality issues.
• Knowledge of hazards related to cranes, fixtures, and safety-sensitive zones.
• Proven safety commitment and standards adherence.
• MS Excel and MS Access proficiency for updating data and producing metrics in pre-formatted spreadsheets.
• Flexibility to rotate between workstations and adapt to change.
• Ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams.

Standing is to be expected up to 80% of the time. Additional activities include: walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and sitting. Fine hand manipulation of controls is needed as well as hand eye coordination to perform changes. Working hours can include any of three shifts and generally are scheduled for forty hours a week. Some weekend overtime is to be expected. Working temperatures include both wide fluctuations within the plant as well as ambient outside temperatures.
