Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Principal Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting development of complex inertial guidance systems for space and military applications.Every day will bring new challenges, requiring you to collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you'll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly.What you will do:In this Systems Engineer role, you will perform and/or support the following activities:Core Systems Engineering: Develop requirements and algorithms, concepts of operations, system trades, and system interfacesModel Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Develop and maintain detailed SysML descriptive system models, linking and synchronization of requirements, and generate design documentation / viewsInterface with cross functional teams, such as Electrical and Software engineering, to help guide subsystem development and ensure compliance with requirements throughout the entire product lifecycleConduct and/or support technical peer reviews and provide constructive feedback; Document and provide technical guidance to other members of the design teamCommunicate technical topics and issues in a clear and concise manner to both technical peers and non-technical team membersQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.Experience with systems requirements, systems software, and systems hardware; experience with systems integration and/or systems test is a plusExperience with DOORs, MBSE, UML/SysML, and/or Cameo / MagicDrawThis role is based out of our Tewksbury MA location Qualifications We Prefer:Strong analytical, communication, and writing skillsExperience in requirements development, design, verification, and validation.Experience syncing and tracing requirements between DOORs and SysML modeling tools such as Cameo / MagicDraw.Experience managing trade studies and design decisions.Experience in all phases of development: concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test.Experience supporting design reviews during all phases of development.Experience with Gears Feature Based variation management toolsExperience with DXL scriptingExperience with Python, Java or MatlabRadar architecture and/or algorithms knowledgeSelf-starter with the ability to independently pursue information and solve problems5 years of experience with Systems/Software Engineering Product Development CycleWhat We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
