Reservations Specialist

Job Title: Reservations Specialist Reports To: Director of Reservations Location: Paw Commons Encinitas (In-Person) Compensation: $19 - $21/hour + Bonuses & Commission Be the Voice of the Resort. We are looking for a highly communicative Reservations Specialist to ensure a seamless booking experience for our clients. This role is perfect for a customer-service pro who leverages sales skills to enhance client satisfaction in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. What You’ll Do: Manage the Books: Accurately input and maintain reservation records using web-based software to ensure every pet's stay is perfectly planned. Connect & Communicate: Assist clients with inquiries, bookings, and modifications via phone and in-person, delivering top-tier service and resolving concerns promptly. Elevate the Experience: Utilize your sales skills to effectively upsell services and products—including premium lodging upgrades, grooming upgrades, and service packages—that enhance the client experience (no cold calling!). Be a Welcoming Guide: Greet clients in the lobby and provide short, professional tours of our common areas to showcase our standard of excellence. Keep Us Running Smoothly: Collaborate seamlessly with Front Desk Teams to ensure smooth daily operations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all resort services and promotions. What You Bring (Qualifications): Customer Service & Sales Expertise: A minimum of one year of experience in sales, customer service, or reservations (pet care or hospitality preferred). Tech-Savviness: You are comfortable using computers and web-based systems, with specific proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and our reservation software, Gingr. High-Volume Communication Skills: You enjoy talking and are comfortable spending the majority of your day on the phone. You possess excellent verbal communication, deep empathy, and the ability to read a situation and pivot your tone to ensure every client feels heard and valued. A De-escalation Master: You do not easily get flustered. You have a proven ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented when dealing with upset or demanding clients. Clerical & Tour Readiness: This is an entirely clerical role requiring prolonged computer use and sitting, with occasional standing and walking to greet clients and provide short facility tours. (No direct animal handling is required). Education & Availability: High school diploma or equivalent required. This role starts as a part-time position (with the potential to transition to full-time), requiring mandatory availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays.
