INDUSTRIAL SUPERVISOR, PRISON INDUSTRIES (DENTAL LAB) - FOLSOM STATE PRISON

Industrial Supervisor, Prison Industries (Dental Lab) A position located at Folsom State Prison (FSP) in Represa, CA, Sacramento County. The Industrial Supervisor reports to the Supervising Dentist, Correctional Facility or the Prison Industries Superintendent II (Dental Laboratory). The role is responsible for the production and fabrication of prosthetic devices for incarcerated persons within the dental laboratory. Job Description and Duties Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) applies. PLP 2025 reduces the base salary of full‑time employees by 3% and provides 5 hours of leave credits monthly through June 30, 2027. The Industrial Supervisor will manage and supervise the dental lab operations, ensuring quality, compliance, and safety standards. The supervisor will oversee staff scheduling, training, maintenance of supplies, and coordination with dental services. Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in the fabrication of the full range of dental prosthetic products. One year of that experience must be in a lead capacity over entry‑level staff or inmates in a correctional facility. Equivalent educational background: Two years of trade or vocational education may substitute for one year of work experience. The education must include at least two years of coursework in the specified industrial operation. Promotional Candidate Promotional candidates, including employees on training‑and‑development assignments, who are within six months of meeting the “Minimum Qualifications” for this promotional class, may be admitted to the examination but must first complete the required experience before they can be eligible for appointment.
