Texas Oncology – PET/CT Technologist (Sugar Land, TX) Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country and has approximately 600+ providers in 220+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Awards are discretionary, reviewed annually, and subject to continued employment. Responsibilities Under general supervision, perform PET imaging procedures and related functions. Collaborate with Medical Director and management on technical issues, equipment performance, and QA. Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Perform diagnostic PET imaging procedures: administration of radio‑pharmaceutical or IV contrast, oral contrast, protocol set‑up, patient positioning, reconstruction and filming of images, network image transfers, and archiving. Assist in procedure scheduling and front‑office workflow. Ensure accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution, and patient files. Collect clinical data for patient follow‑up and educational materials. Provide protection for patient and self per safety standards; conduct daily quality control of scanner performance. Report all malfunctions and service needs to the appropriate company or facility. Manage patient data and films: printing, archiving, retrieval, network transfers, tracking and logging of loaned films and outside film requests. Understand contraindications of IV contrast; recognize reactions and follow protocols. Order necessary office, medical, printing and archiving media. Qualifications Level 1: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology from an AMA‑accredited program and PET‑CT certification. Minimum 3–5 years experience in nuclear medicine and/or prior PET experience preferred. General knowledge of patient scheduling and billing systems. CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification and state licensure where applicable. Level 2 (additional to Level 1): Minimum 5 years experience in nuclear medicine, including at least 2 years of PET or nuclear medical experience. Level Sr (additional to Level 1 & 2): Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiologic Technology, or from an AMA‑accredited program. Minimum 4 years nuclear medical PET experience. Requires ability to reach above shoulder height and to sit/stand for extended periods. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
