We are seeking a talented Senior Compliance Consultant to join our team of nearly 500 employees. The Senior Consultant will perform external consulting and technical assistance for select CCSI customers’ compliance and/or privacy programs. This includes serving as a dedicated subject matter expert and resource for customers to ensure the full implementation of a successful Compliance and/or Privacy Program that addresses regulatory and legal obligations and promotes customers’ business ethics and integrity. This position will also assist with internal CCSI compliance and privacy program activities and projects, as assigned, to support the Senior Director of Compliance and Privacy.

In this role, you will

  • Facilitate completion of risk assessments and assist with the design and implementation of the compliance and/or privacy program and workplan for each customer with appropriate prioritization.
  • Collaborate and assist each customer with the day-to-day management of their compliance and/or privacy program. 
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and checklists associated with customers’ compliance and/or privacy requirements.
  • Oversee the compliance audit and monitoring plan and conducts compliance and/or privacy audits for customers – testing operational effectiveness of key controls using a variety of approaches, including sampling, corroboration, observation, performance assessments in accordance with applicable funder requirements and other governing regulatory frameworks.
  • Conduct planning, write reports, analyze data, document findings, and recommend remediation to customers as necessary. Collaborate with the customer’s management and other key stakeholders on the development of corrective action plans. Support the implementation of remediation and plans of corrective action through closure.
  • Assist each customer with establishing, implementing, and/or maintaining effective lines of communication including a confidential means for reporting compliance and/or privacy concerns.
  • Provide guidance and/or conducts compliance and/or privacy investigations for the customer, as needed.
  • Educate customers (to include customers’ Boards, leadership, staff, and volunteers) on compliance and/or privacy issues, including reporting instructions, industry rules, regulations, and policies as applicable. 
  • Develop training content and standardized resources for customers. Coordinates the annual compliance and/or privacy training program schedule for customers, including updates as needed to address changes in laws, results of audits and investigations, and guidance from federal and state agencies and deliver training presentations as requested by the customer.
  • Create and oversee a compliance committee for each customer this position supports.
  • Provide coordination and guidance for external auditor/survey visits for each customer, planned and unscheduled.
  • Conduct annual compliance program reviews for each customer. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current laws, statutes, and regulations impacting customer operations and ensures the information is appropriately disseminated. 
  • Manage all customer compliance and privacy program documentation.
  • Assist with internal compliance and privacy program activities and projects, as assigned, to support the Senior Director of Compliance and Privacy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field of study and minimum of 7 years of compliance experience, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Required: Must hold one or more of these certifications :
    • Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
    • Certificate in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)
    • Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)
    • Or a graduate certificate from a university participating in the Compliance Certification Board Accrediting Program.
  • Demonstrated experience and high-level competency with compliance investigations and corporate level compliance training.
  • 3 years of experience in grants compliance, strongly preferred.

  • Possess deep knowledge of federal and state award/grant fund requirements, healthcare compliance requirements, and thorough understanding of privacy and security rules, including but not limited to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), New York State SHIELD Act, and 42 CFR Part 2.
  • Resourceful with ability to leverage expertise in standard business software applications to support compliance activities and customer engagements.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations, confidently addressing audiences and effectively communicating key compliance concepts.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and conduct presentations in front of an audience.

Staff working directly with protected health information /electronically stored protected health information, personally identifiable information, and other patient/consumer/customer data, will abide by the specific procedures and policies outlined by CCSI’s Code of Conduct and CCSI’s Privacy and Security Policies, New York State regulations and Federal regulations.
