Location: Knoxville, TN

Industry: Long Term Care / Closed-Door Pharmacy
We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join our team in Knoxville, TN . This position is with a closed-door long term care pharmacy providing medications and pharmacy services to assisted living and personal care communities throughout the Southeast.
The Pharmacist will work closely with the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)and pharmacy team to ensure medications are accurately reviewed, dispensed, verified, and prepared for delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist interested in long-term care pharmacy, assisted living, and medication management .
Responsibilities
- Accurately review and dispense prescription medications ordered by physicians and other authorized healthcare providers.
- Perform final verification of medications prior to delivery.
- Review prescriptions for appropriate dosage, potential drug interactions, allergies, and other medication-related concerns.
- Identify potential medication issues and communicate with physicians, healthcare providers, and pharmacy staff as appropriate.
- Provide caregivers and healthcare professionals with accurate drug information , including medication interactions and potential side effects.
- Review patient medication profiles and help ensure appropriate and accurate medication therapy.
- Maintain complete and accurate pharmacy records.
- Operate pharmacy automation and robotics used in the dispensing process.
- Follow established pharmacy procedures for medication preparation, verification, documentation, and delivery.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable Tennessee Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
- Follow federal, state, and company requirements related to pharmacy practice and long-term care medication services.
- Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to maintain medication accuracy, patient safety, and efficient workflow.
- Perform other duties related to professional pharmacy practice as needed.
Qualifications
- Current, active Pharmacist license in the State of Tennessee.
- PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree.
- Previous professional pharmacist experience required.
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications, dosage requirements, drug interactions, and medication safety.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to medication accuracy.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented pharmacy environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Long Term Care (LTC) pharmacy experience.
- Experience in a closed-door pharmacy environment.
- Experience serving assisted living, personal care, nursing home, or skilled nursing communities.
- Familiarity with Framework LTC pharmacy software .
- Experience with pharmacy automation, robotics, or automated dispensing systems.
