We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and proficiency in various accounting software. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
** Responsibilities **
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve payment processes.
- Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing reports related to accounts payable.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends or issues that may require attention.
- Support payroll management functions as needed, including data entry for payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements in all accounts payable activities.
** Skills **
- Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Workday, or PeopleSoft.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, or Kronos is preferred.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits administration is a plus.
- Knowledge of public accounting principles and non-profit accounting is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
