Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: AK RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Pending license accepted, but must obtain license before auto offer Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit. The ideal candidate must be able to complete the RN license application within 48 hours of signing. An active nursing license is required for an auto offer. Assignment length is for 13 weeks. The shift schedule is 3x12 hours, with nights from 19:00 to 07:30. Candidates with 1 year of experience are encouraged to apply. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend coverage may be required based on staffing needs. The clinician will float within the scope to meet facility needs. This unit serves a diverse patient population and utilizes a co-care and virtual nursing model. For every patient, there is one bedside RN, a virtual RN, and one CNA. The bedside RN-to-patient ratio is 1:4, while the CNA ratio is 1:6. Thirty percent of the patient population has cardiac conditions including CHF, MI, and patients with pacemakers. The unit also cares for respiratory patients and complicated medical-surgical patients requiring higher levels of monitoring. This is a Magnet facility and classified as a Level II Trauma center. The daily census is approximately 36 patients. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams including physical therapy and rapid response teams. Strong skills in telemetry and management of cardiac drips are essential. Candidates should be prepared to work most holidays as needed.
