MS/Tele RNThis role requires a Registered Nurse to work in a telemetry unit. The average daily census is approximately 30 patients. The unit has 22 rooms and a capacity of 30 beds. The patient population consists of adults and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, ECOPD, NSTEMI, new onset Atrial Fibrillation, dysrhythmias, sepsis, and renal failure. The position requires managing various complex cases and may involve special procedures typical for a combined PCU and telemetry unit. Nights are scheduled from 19:00 to 07:30. Every other weekend is required. Floating within the specialty may be required as necessary. Holidays are scheduled as they fall. Pre-scheduled on call is not required, but staff may be placed on call if needed. The patient-to-nurse ratio on nights is typically 4:1. Essential skills include management of cardiac drips, blood product administration, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
