RN - Tele Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 20 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active state RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in telemetry nursingTravel experience requiredCharge experience preferred Description: Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry. Shift hours are from 07:00 to 19:30.Required to work holidays as scheduled.Weekend work is required every other weekend.Floating to other units within the specialty may be required.On-call duty is not required. The daily patient census averages 25.The unit has 22 rooms and 30 beds.The patient age range includes adults to geriatrics.Common patient diagnoses include telemetry patients with cardiac issues, strokes, TIA, and stable cardiac catheterization patients. Special procedures include remote telemetry monitoring.Specialty drips include Cardizem (non-titratable), Amiodarone, Heparin, Protonix, and Lasix.Special equipment includes portable phones and IV pumps. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.Candidates must manage cardiac drips and be comfortable interpreting dysrhythmias.Additional skills required include central line care, oxygen administration, and IV management.
