Principal Responsibilities Demonstrates clinical proficiency and technical skills as a Sonographer Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based on physician requests Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment for diagnosis Provides high‑quality imaging Maintains knowledge about sophisticated imaging features to enhance data capture Appropriately acquires echocardiographic measurements per protocol, creates digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicates preliminary findings to the interpreting physician Reviews a physician order to verify appropriateness before performing the study Acts as a role model in providing care and assists in precepting Cardio Sonographers I Retrieves studies from PACS for review Performs appropriate infection control processes Provides an environment of care that supports patient safety Addresses patient information needs related to requested studies Prepares patients for the study Supports IAC Standards and Guidelines Ensures accuracy of data for clinical reports, demographics, and billing information for physician reports Qualifications Education Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) is required. Work Experience Two (2) years of experience performing echocardiographic studies required.
