Barista PositionA Barista is a professional who makes and serves beverages such as coffee, tea, and cocktails. They are responsible for taking customer orders and payment, sanitizing work areas, and cleaning seating areas and equipment/tools. The barista's responsibilities also include educating customers on the drink menu, making recommendations based on preferences, upselling special items, and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have exceptional customer service skills and a vast knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. This role requires the ability to work various shifts.Education / Experience/ Skills and Ability Requirements:Previous work experience as a Barista or BartenderValid Alcohol Awareness CardHands-on experience with brewing equipmentKnowledge of sanitation regulationsFlexibility to work various shiftsBasic math skillsAbility to gauge customers' preferencesExcellent communication skillsContacts:INTERNAL:Any and all Mt Rose employees from any department including management staff.EXTERNAL:Various vendors and suppliers of equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Greet customers as they enterTake orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)Prepare beverages and cocktails by following the recipesServe beverages and prepared food (cookies, pastries and muffins)Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)Keep the bar area cleanMaintain stock of cups, sugars, and grab and go itemsCheck if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needsComply with health and safety regulationsCommunicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu itemsMarginal Duties & Responsibilities:Coordinate and cooperate with other departments as necessary in the completion of the above essential duties.Provide information and answer questions about the resort to resort guests.Any other duties that may contribute to the cleanliness, orderliness and overall efficiency of the entire operation and all of the tasks contained therein.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
