Job Overview This position provides short‑term, surge, and on‑demand personal financial counseling for military service members and their families at installation sites. Key Responsibilities Deliver full‑spectrum personal financial counseling, including one‑on‑one sessions, briefings, and presentations. Consult with commanders, providers, and staff; provide referral resources beyond counseling sessions. Co‑ordinate, publicize, and conduct Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering the military lifecycle (arrival, pre‑ and post‑deployment, career events). Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication tools (web‑based chat, video teleconference) as authorized by OSD FINRED Program Office. Manage duty‑to‑warn situations following DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trend information. Engage in in‑service training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities as needed. Perform other duties as assigned that align with the role’s intent. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree + 4 years’ experience or high school diploma + 6 years’ experience may be considered. Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizenship and fluent English (bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract). Ability to obtain a Tier 2 security investigation. Pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process. Certified as Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Valid driver’s license (if required).
