You’ll play a key role each month (10 hours/month) ensuring all health standards and student care protocols are successfully met at the campus level. This means auditing medication administration, reviewing critical health action plans, and ensuring compliance for student safety—a position that puts your expertise at the heart of student well-being.

Requirements:

• Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation License (Registered Nurse)
• Professional Educator License (PEL) for School Nurse in Illinois
• Certified School Nurse (CSN) qualifications
• Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee campus-level compliance with health procedures
• Conduct monthly file reviews to ensure accurate, up-to-date doctor’s orders for medication administration
• Audit administered medications to confirm correct dosage and presence of inventory
• Ensure all seizure, allergy, and asthma action plans are current and medications are non-expired
• Serve as a resource for school staff on student health care standards
