Job Summary

The Retail Cafe/Catering Manager position is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial leader who is constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance the guest experience and drive operational excellence in an acute care setting. This role is responsible for the successful management of retail dining operations and catering services within a healthcare environment. The Retail Manager oversees all aspects of retail and catering operations, including daily execution, financial performance, team leadership, customer service, and special events.

This position will lead a diverse team while ensuring exceptional food quality, outstanding customer service, and seamless execution of catering events ranging from routine meetings to large-scale functions. The Retail Manager partners closely with clients and hospital leadership to deliver memorable dining and catering experiences while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily administrative and operational functions of retail dining and catering services.
Manages all aspects of staff leadership, including hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, performance management, and employee engagement.
Plans, coordinates, and executes catering events, ensuring exceptional service, timely delivery, and client satisfaction.
Partners with clients to develop catering solutions that meet event objectives, dietary needs, and budget requirements.
Oversees catering logistics, including event planning, staffing, production schedules, equipment, and event setup/breakdown.
Manages all financials, including budget development, forecasting, financial reporting, and catering revenue opportunities.
Maintains knowledge of retail, culinary, and catering industry trends to continuously improve offerings and guest satisfaction.
Monitors food, labor, and supply costs while implementing effective cost-control measures.
Oversees sanitation, food safety, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety for all assigned operations.
Purchases and manages inventory to support both retail and catering operations while minimizing waste.
Partners with the Company marketing and culinary teams to implement new retail concepts, promotions, and catering initiatives.
Serves as the primary liaison with hospital leadership and clients, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:
Culinary degree preferred, or Associate's degree with equivalent food service management experience.
Three or more years of progressive leadership experience in retail food service and catering operations.
Previous catering management experience, including event planning, client relations, menu coordination, staffing, and execution of events of varying size and complexity.
Supervisory experience in healthcare, senior living, retirement communities, hospitality, or a related environment strongly preferred.
Knowledge of retail dining, food service, and catering trends with an emphasis on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, merchandising, and presentation.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional customer service.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, internet applications, and food service management systems.
ServSafe® Certification required or ability to obtain within an established timeframe.
