Registered Nurse Cardiac Stepdown

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Stepdown RN is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures or conditions. This role requires attention to detail, clinical expertise, and the ability to manage acute patient needs in a stepdown unit.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patient conditions regularly to identify changes in cardiac status and implement appropriate interventions.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications, treatments, and therapies aligned with physician orders and protocol.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient vitals, EKGs, and other clinical data to ensure stability and detect potential complications.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families about post-procedure care, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid California RN license with current licensure uploaded via Nursys within the past 2 weeks.
  
  
• 
  Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Cardiac or Telemetry unit.
  
  
• 
  ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA or ARC with valid expiration dates.
  
  
• 
  Proficiency in Epic electronic health record systems.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work every other weekend, holidays as needed, and night shifts (3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM).
  
  
• 
  Successful completion of required compliance and onboarding processes within specified timelines.
