Seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a high growth rework machine development and manufacturing client in the Chelmsford, MA.

The Mechanical Design Engineer would be responsible for leading mechanical engineering design projects from concept through production while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and leadership. This includes applying core engineering principles, such as material selection, machinery mechanics, and manufacturing processes to design products that are functional, cost-effective, manufacturable, and maintainable (DFM/DFX).

responsibilities:

• Lead multiple concurrent design projects within a cross-functional team.

• Apply core mechanical engineering principles (materials, machinery, and manufacturing) to deliver functional, cost-effective products.

• Design for overall feasibility, manufacturability, and maintainability (DFM/DFM).

• Execute component- and system-level testing to validate designs against requirements.

• Create technical documentation, including assembly drawings, test requirements, calibration procedures, and work instructions.

• Present engineering reports, concept reviews, and project updates to leadership and stakeholders.

• Travel internationally (approx. 5%) for customer site visits, technical discussions, and troubleshooting.
