Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role is preferred, but not required. We offer a thorough training program to help individuals with strong knife skills build the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in the role. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety standards accurately and efficiently. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality, consistency, cleanliness, and sanitation standards. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities: Prepare sushi and related menu items according to recipes, presentation standards and specifications. Follow allergy precaution procedures carefully, including preventing cross-contamination and handling guest allergy requests with accuracy. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, labeled, rotated, handled safely, and prepared with attention to quality and detail. Duties may include occasionally lifting and carrying kitchen equipment, ingredients, and other supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in the sushi bar, prep areas, coolers, and kitchen workstations throughout the shift. Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation guidelines at all times, including proper handwashing, temperature control, safe food handling, and equipment sanitation. Work closely with kitchen team members, leadership, and front-of-house staff to support timely, efficient, and high-quality service. Assist with daily prep lists, inventory counts, product rotation, stocking, and ordering needs for sushi ingredients and related supplies. Provide friendly, professional guest interaction when working in guest-facing areas, while representing the restaurant with hospitality, confidence, and care. Why join Flagship Restaurant Group?
