Director of Business Development - Power Infrastructure

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth within the electrical power construction market. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strong client relationships, and supporting the pursuit and capture of complex electrical infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate brings deep industry knowledge, established utility relationships, and a strong track record of winning work within transmission, distribution, substation, and large-scale power markets. Key Responsibilities Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within the electrical power construction sector Build and maintain strong relationships with utilities, electrical membership cooperatives (EMCs), data center developers, and other key industry partners Lead the preparation of proposals, RFP responses, presentations, and pursuit strategies for new project opportunities Collaborate with estimating, operations, and engineering teams to support pre-construction and business capture efforts Represent the company at client meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to refine growth strategies Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular reporting on pipeline activity, forecasting, and business development performance Support contract negotiations and ensure a seamless transition from project award to operations/construction teams Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans aligned with revenue and margin goals Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of business development, sales, or client management experience within the electrical utility or power construction industry Proven experience growing relationships with major utility providers. Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure projects including transmission, distribution, and substations Demonstrated success generating leads, developing client relationships, and closing business in a technical sales environment Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Willingness to travel as needed Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and proposal development tools Education High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred Equivalent industry experience will also be considered #J-18808-Ljbffr BlueSky Resource Solutions
