Cafe Attendant Job Description

Full and Part Time Roles Available

Cafe Attendant team members welcome and care for guests in the cafe spaces. Cafe Attendants make sure the front of house cafe spaces are well stocked, organized, and ready for guests to enjoy the cafe. Cafe Attendants are a key role of the cafe service and must:

• Engage guests with gracious, genuine, and thoughtful hospitality
• Have a passion for hospitality and full knowledge of the menu, from coffee items to other beverages to food and bakery items
• Work with colleagues as an important part of team to deliver a great guest experience
• Have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, & afternoons/evenings

Compensation and Benefits

• $24 - $26 / Hr

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, expedient service to guests
• Welcoming guests to the cafe and engage with them throughout their experience
• Operates Toast point of sale by selecting guests’ order items and checking out guests expediently
• Assists guests with self checkout points of sale as needed
• Develop and maintain complete knowledge of menu
• Communicate with guests about menu questions, allergens, and service
• Follows all presentation standards for cafe front of house
• Keeps the cafe and seating areas clean and sanitary
• Assist in the kitchen some cold food prep and manage the stocking of the salad bar
• Makes sure beverage coolers, grab and go coolers, and cafe cases are well stocked for service
• Sets up front of house cafe spaces displays and makes sure cafe is ready to open
• Cleans front of house cafe spaces throughout day and after closing, following closing procedures
• Offer support to colleagues and clients with professionalism and positivity
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Strong communication skills to professionally communicate with all guests and team members
• Ability to operate Toast point of sale
• Able to grasp and reach overhead
• Must be able to lift, move, and carry 50+lbs
• Must be able to work 8+ hours a day on feet
• Servsafe allergen certified and TIPS certified (or willing to be certified prior to start date, company pays for classes)
