Machine Operator 1 Day Shift

Job Description JOB DETAILS Base pay rate is $18.50 per hour Day Shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM, hours may vary depending on operations This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year. Duties and Responsibilities The Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building parts.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Understands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment. Ability to set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form, or paint quality finished or semi-finished parts. Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment. Performs routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation. Marks part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts. Attaches identification tags as required for customer to have the ability locate correct parts. Interprets blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semi-finished parts. Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area. May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Lifting Capacity – ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Mobility – Prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc. Exposure – Moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment.
