Qualifications

Required Education, Certifications, Experience and continual Professional Development:

-High School Diploma or GED equivalent

-CPR/First Aid Certified

-Arkansas New Staff Orientation

-Mandated Reporter Training

 

Duties & Responsibilities: Assists the Lead Teacher

-Promotes a healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical environment.

-Maintains confidentiality.

-Responsible for keeping progress on each child’s growth and development

through portfolios, ASQs, and CDELS assessments.

-Completion of required yearly professional development (25 hours)

-Is on time and present for scheduled shift, when unable to work scheduled shift--

communicates in a timely manner with administration.

-Follows all State, Local, and JLHELC minimum licensing requirements.

-Follows all emergency and safety procedures.

-Understands responsibilities as a mandated reporter.

-Able to meet the physical demands of the job. Ex. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for

long periods of time, stoop down, squat to child’s level, agility to move quickly

when needed

-Other duties upon request by administration.

 

Classroom Responsibilities:

-Supervise assigned groups of children.

-Assist in implementing curriculum, activities, and lesson plans.

-Prepare classroom materials to support lesson plans; change and create learning

centers as needed.

-Maintains an environment that is clean, organized, and safe. Responsible for

the upkeep of all classroom equipment and materials.

-Guide children to follow rules and routines consistently.

-Complete closing responsibilities before leaving.

 

Interactions with Staff, Parents, and Children:

-Engage in positive staff-child interactions and positive parent-teacher

interactions. Every day is a fresh start.

-Participate in family involvement events.

-Assist in communicating with families daily, keeping them informed of concerns.

Using the ProCare app daily and reply in a timely manner.

-Supervise assigned groups of children. Be consistent with discipline and rules.
