Job Title: Automotive Mechanic

Absolute Auto, a trusted family-owned auto repair shop with over 18 years of service in Port Matilda, PA. We are expanding and seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Mechanic/Technician. If you’re passionate about delivering top-notch automotive services and thrive in a supportive, team-oriented environment, we’d love to meet you! Our current business hours are (4 /10 hr days) Tuesday - Friday, 7am-6pm with one hour lunch brake. Position will not be open until mid Sept 2026, come in for an active interview; show us your skill in the shop prior to getting hired.

Job Responsibilities:

• Look over every vehicle (digital inspection with pictures and notes on a tablet) from bumper to bumper to see if vehicle has any upcoming problems, recommended services or if its in good condition. Must be able to use a tablet (iPad).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions efficiently. (Ability to perform diagnostics on common issues like wheel bearing noise and suspension concerns is required).
• Top candidate should be able to diagnose most of the electrical issues and be able to read and understand a wiring diagram. We can pay better hourly wage for top techs - you will have to prove it with work not words or certificates.
• Inspect vehicles to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs.
• Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Keep detailed records of all work performed. NOTES, NOTES and MORE NOTES.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to properly and efficiently diagnose vehicle problems. Provide proper diagnosis/recommendations in writing.
• MUST be able to lift 50lbs or more.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ASE Certifications or Equivalent.
• Automotive Training Courses.
• PA Emissions and Safety Licenses.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Min of 5 plus years of experience as a Professional Automotive Mechanic/Technician.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
• Attention to detail is a must!
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work as a productive team member.

Position Details:

• 4-day work week, Tue-Fri 7am – 6pm, with lunch break.
• Full-time position with approximately 40 hours per week.
• Competitive pay based on skill and efficiency. Direct deposit every Friday
• Production bonuses available after 90 days of employment.
• Paid vacation and paid holidays after 90 days of employment.
