Ultrasound Technologist

This position is for a full-time role working from Friday to Tuesday, with hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Location: Franklin, NC

Unit Overview:

• Facility Size: 30-bed critical access facility with 2 ultrasound rooms.
• Staff Composition: 1 full-time new graduate and 2 part-time experienced technicians with 2 travelers.
• Shift Details:
• Day shift: 1 technician from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, 1 technician from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and 1 technician on weekends from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with on-call responsibilities after hours.
• Night shift: 1 technician from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
• Patient Ratios: 30 minutes to 1 hour allocated for each exam.
• Equipment: GE Logic E10, Trophons, Parks Flolab.
• EMR: Cerner and Philips Intellispace PACS.

Qualifications:

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification.
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification.
• Level II obstetric ultrasound experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High-risk obstetric ultrasound experience.

Typical Procedures:

• Abdominal ultrasounds
• Pelvic ultrasounds
• Vascular assessments (carotid/venous)
• Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) tests
• Obstetric and gynecological ultrasounds
• Small parts and breast imaging

Professional Attributes:

• Can efficiently complete exams within 30 to 45 minutes.
• Is capable of writing reports.
• Maintains a positive and drama-free work environment.

Certification Requirements:

• BLS certification is required.
• ARDMS certification in abdomen or obstetrics is required; RVT registry is preferred.

Scrub color: Black.

Floating Areas:

Occasional floating to outpatient ultrasound is expected, contingent on proficiency.

Additional Policies:

All staff are required to adhere to attendance policies, confidentiality protocols, and protocols for exams as established by radiologists.
