Associate Director, Supply Chain

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks an Associate Director of Supply Chain to develop upstream supply strategy for the Pain portfolio and drive end-to-end strategic initiatives. The role requires leadership in scenario planning, cross-functional collaboration, and regulatory compliance within a complex pharmaceutical environment, based in Boston on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

Develop and integrate upstream supply chain strategy with program objectives across functions
Lead S&OP planning process and serve as liaison between Commercial, Finance, and Operations
Conduct scenario planning and data-driven analysis to balance demand and supply constraints
Manage order lifecycle, inventory strategies, and coordination with internal and external logistics partners
Design and oversee business processes, SOPs, and support supply chain risk mitigation

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in life sciences, supply chain, manufacturing, or related field
8+ years of progressive supply chain industry experience
Expertise in S&OP, supply planning, and product launch support
ERP/MRP systems experience (Oracle OPM, Maestro Kinaxis, Veeva, or equivalent)
Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations (cGMP, GCP, GDP, import/export)
Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder influence capabilities
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with continuous improvement mindset

Compensation: $154,500 - $231,700 base
