Survey Party Chief

Are you excited about learning new technologies and working both in the field and office? This could be a great opportunity to advance your surveying career. What You'll Do: Lead a survey crew in completing control, topographic, boundary, construction layout, and utility location surveys. Operate advanced surveying technology including robotic total stations, GPS equipment, laser scanners, automatic levels, and data collectors to accurately gather field data. Interpret construction plans, perform field calculations, and execute precise construction staking and layout. Maintain detailed field notes and manage survey data, files, and photographs. Ensure proper maintenance and operation of survey equipment, vehicles, and supplies. Follow all safety requirements and adhere to established health and safety procedures. Mentor and support junior crew members while helping manage field schedules and project workloads. Represent the organization professionally when interacting with clients, property owners, and project stakeholders. What You'll Bring: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in Surveying & Mapping or Civil Engineering Technology preferred. 3-5 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief. Experience with Trimble survey equipment and Trimble Business Center preferred. Construction layout and/or utility corridor project experience preferred. Strong mathematical and trigonometric skills with an understanding of survey accuracy and error analysis. Proven leadership skills with the ability to make independent decisions and direct field crews. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to obtain OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification. Willingness to work overtime, travel as needed with per diem provided, and work in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license and ability to pass background, motor vehicle, and drug screening requirements.
